We offer pickup from across the island. Resorts, hotels, vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, and the airport (off site) are all fine. When booking, just select the area closest to where you’re staying so we can plan the route efficiently.
We travel through multiple climates and environments, so comfort and protection matter.
We recommend:
•Closed-toe shoes or hiking boots
•Pants for walking on lava and uneven terrain
•A light jacket or hoodie
•A hat
Lava fields can be rough underfoot, and sturdy shoes make a big difference
This is one of the most common questions, and the honest answer is: it’s never guaranteed.
Volcanoes are unpredictable, and most of the time lava is not visible or accessible to the public. When lava does become safely viewable in permitted areas, we make every effort to prioritize it. If not, the experience still includes volcanic landscapes, craters, lava fields, and Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park.
Much of the Big Island is rainforest, and rain is part of life here. Light rain does not stop a tour, and we provide ponchos when needed.
If weather conditions are unsafe or unusually severe, we may cancel or adjust the day. If you’re concerned about the forecast, just reach out and we’ll talk through the options. We’re not fans of miserable tours either.
You can cancel up to 48 hours before your tour with no charge.
Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable, but we’re happy to credit your tour toward a future visit. If plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can work with you.
