The Big Island of Hawai'i and the other Hawaiian Islands, owe their existence to the presence of great volcanoes. Typically, when most hear about Hawaiian volcanoes, they think of Mauna Loa or Kilauea, and rightfully so. These two have stolen the show for the better part of a few thousand years. However, there is more to the story then just these two. In fact, Mauna Loa and Kilauea don't even make up half of the number of volcanoes on the Big Island. Joining Mauna Loa and Kilauea are Mauna Kea, Hualalai, and Kohala. These older, much "wiser" volcanoes each have their own story to tell, and we here at The Volcano Van want to share that story with you.

Because this tour is covering so much ground, you'll need to be getting up early. Don't worry though, we feel it's totally worth it. We'll be traveling large portion of the island and seeing some amazing sites. We'll see Kohala, with its rolling grassy hills and cinder cones; featuring one of the oldest and largest working cattle ranches in the United States. Mauna Kea, which towers into the sky with its world famous astronomical observatories. Saving the best for last, Kilauea. Constantly erupting since 1983, this is a life time opportunity to see an active volcano up close.*

This is a fantastic tour, and an awesome way to see what the Big Island of Hawai'i has to offer. So set your alarm, eat a big breakfast, and get ready for a day of adventure and excitement. We'll pick you up at your hotel or at the airport, and head out to Kilauea and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Along the way we'll talk story, and maybe check out anything else you might find interesting.*
